Replacing Witchcraft with Worship of God

Put off-Witchcraft, astrology and horoscopes

Deuteronomy 18:10-12

10.  There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,

11.  or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.

12.  For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord your God, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out before you.

Put On-Worship of God

Deuteronomy 6:5  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all you soul and with all your strength.

If you are a Christian, you must avoid any type of witchcraft of magic-even if the magic is meant for good.  While this may seem enticing to you, this goes against what God wants.  This is because witchcraft, sorcery and other sorts of magic rely of the users to call upon other gods for their power.

I confess that I do read horoscopes.  I do not, however, take them seriously.  There are some people who, if they read a horoscope that warns them that they are going to have a bad day, refuse to leave the house.  If I took horoscopes seriously, I would not have married my husband.  I am a Gemini and my husband is a Taurus.  Both of these signs an incompatible.  Overall, I should avoid reading these altogether since it goes against what the Bible says.  God put the stars in the sky so people can use them as a compass so they wouldn't get lost while they were traveling.  He did not put them there for people to use them as signs.

Anytime you feel yourself being drawn into witchcraft or other ungodly activities recite this prayer:

Father God, we praise you for your love and faithfulness towards your children. We praise you for being a perfect, holy, trustworthy God that is bigger than all the evil we experience here on earth. We ask that you give us eyes to see when evil is before us, hearts to hate evil and the desire to flee from its presence. We ask that you would not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil and draw us closer to yourself. We ask for the long-expected Jesus to come quickly and make all things new. We ask these things His precious name. Amen.
